Secretary of State confirms Compulsory Purchase Order
Arsenal Football Club is delighted that the Compulsory Purchase Order (CPO) relating to the entire development site, including properties on Queensland Road which is situated near the Club's new stadium site has been confirmed by the Secretary of State, John Prescott.

The Secretary of State, who was minded to confirm the CPO in January, accepted the London Borough of Islington's case that the implementation of the proposals would make a substantial contribution to the regeneration of the area.
国务秘书本来希望在一月份确认这项强制收买权，他同意伦敦埃斯林顿市认为这一开发计划将会对该地区重建做出实质性贡献的意见。
Commenting on the news, Arsenal Director Danny Fiszman said:

"Although it did not affect the construction of our new stadium, we are obviously delighted that the Secretary of State has confirmed Islington's CPO. This will now enable us to further contribute to the signficant regeneration of this area of Islington. Our comprehensive regeneration programme also includes the construction of many new homes and creation of a considerable amount of new jobs."
